Showcase new artwork by Texas artist, Mercedes Trevino
June 12, 2004 -- As a prolific artist, Mercedes has made an impact in the areas in which she has lived, always making a statement through art and action to help empower women and children. Being an artist as well as an educator she has touched many lives in various populations.
Mercedes Trevino, has been listed in Who's Who International Biographies of Women, Who's Who in American Women Artists, Who's Who in the Arts.
She previously resided in Sarasota, Florida and moved to Texas five years ago. She has been teaching bilingual education in the public schools. She exhibits her work in Sarasota, Florida, Miami, Florida, New York City, New Mexico Galleries, Mexico City, Mexico, Quito, Ecuador, and has been on exhibit in galleries in Paris, France. Her works have traveled to owners living in Greece, Ireland, Iceland, Germany to name a few out of the country. Ministers, Mathematicians, Physicists are among the many collectors of her works. Others include poets, writers and actors as well as art lovers.
She has contributed and has been an advocate for the differently able in various arenas.
Her heritage is clear in her artwork. Her use of colors and form give this artist a sense of pause in time, to reflect on a frozen moment in nature.
This artist is new to Texas but she is here to stay.
